You will be away from friends and family Although it is easier today to keep in contact with friends and family it can still be hard to be so far away from them. Make sure that you keep in regular contact with your friends and use skype to keep up-to-date on even the little day-to-day things.
And of course encourage them to visit!
It can put a lot of pressure on your relationship As moving to a new culture can be very unsettling as described above, it can sometimes cause friction in a relationship. Certainly when one of you is busy with their new job and the other is home alone with no support network.
